Scenario: My wife had got her name changed in final year of her study. She had published it in the Government Gazette and also had a letter from Controller of Examinations - Anna university that her name had been changed in the university records. But the consolidated marksheet and the degree certificate held her old name. When we went to apply for marskheet transcripts, the officials told that the transcripts to be issued would also hold the same name that is in the Degree/Consolidated marksheet.
Suggestion: The transcript officials suggested us to reach out to the Controller of Examinations office, which was next to the Transcripts Office-Anna University. I have marked the location below.

- Original Consolidated Marksheet with the old name.
- Original Degree certificate with the old name.
- Request letter to the 'Controller of Examinations' to provide the updated Degree certificate/Consolidated marksheet with new name.
- Demand Draft in favour of "Controller of Examinations, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025" payable at Chennai.
- DD for Rs.500/- for Degree certificate
- DD for Rs.200/- for Consolidated marksheet
- Self-addressed A3 Envelope (available in the Co-operative store marked below) with Rs.60/- Postage. (Stamp is available in the nearest post office marked below).
These documents need to be submitted in the Controller of Examinations office marked above. The originals with updated name will reach the address marked in the envelope within 30-40 days.
